Radio Recap: How Far Left Will The Democrats Go?

Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Corey Booker, Robert Francis (Beto) O’Rourke, Amy Klobuchar, Andrew Yang, and Julian Castro have qualified for the Democrat Party’s presidential debate, taking place on September 12th at Texas Southern University.

Today on the show we discussed the Democrat presidential candidates, their positions on some key issues, the likelihood that these debate thresholds are unlikely to winnow down the field, trends in the campaign, and how far Left the Democrat Party has gone.

We also discussed exactly where each of the candidates stand in the polls and the complicated DNC debate rules.

Thus far, the field has been mostly dominated by the far Left. Either candidates are taking far Left positions or being forced to respond on far Left issues.

The next debate after this one is October 15th. The deadline to qualify for that debate is October 1st, and it looks like it could be another two-night debate.

We also discussed how some are reacting to the debate qualifications. While candidates who don’t really stand a chance at the nomination are complaining about how rigid the rules are, others on the Left like Rachel Maddow are not too happy with the qualification rules because they believe it does not winnow down the field at these debates. “Oh, Democrats.” She sighed. It’s getting kind of silly.
