Adding to what was already looking like a crowded ticket for the Democrats, former Vice President Joe Biden has officially thrown his hat into the ring, announcing he will make a run for the White House.

Today on the show, we discussed Joe Biden’s announcement that, after much speculation, he is indeed the 20th candidate running for the Democrat Party’s Presidential nomination.

The former V.P. announced his candidacy through the release of a slick, dramatic video. Biden later stated he asked President Barack Obama not to endorse him at this stage, in an apparent attempt to keep the playing field level, stating “whoever wins this nomination should win it on their own merits."

Once he made his official announcement, polls show Biden immediately skyrocketed to the front of the pack, but as we discussed today, there is a big question as to if his campaign can raise the kind of money that Sen. Bernie Sanders has so far? And can he garner the support of his own party, against extreme left-wing candidates like Sens. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Corey Booker, and Mayor Pete Buttigieg?

We discussed how this will be Joe Biden’s third run for President, having been unable to garner enough of the vote to earn his party’s nomination in previous attempts.

We also discussed President Trump’s tweet to Biden, warning him the primary campaign against his fellow Democrats “will be nasty - you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!”
