Politics, policy and breaking news. With so many hot-button issues filling the headlines, it felt like the right time to turn the show over to the audience, to give you a direct forum to discuss the specific issues weighing on your hearts and minds.

Today on Jay Sekulow Live, we covered a gambit of topics, before opening the phones and floor to you the audience.

We started the broadcast discussing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Act which will move to a vote in the Senate on Monday. It’s going to be difficult to get to the 60 vote threshold needed to protect these babies, but this vote will put all Senators on the record. When they next ask the public for their vote, particularly those hoping to make a presidential bid, we will be able to see exactly how they voted when it comes to saving a born-alive baby’s life.

We also told you about Tuesday’s scheduled vote in the House of Representatives on the disapproval the President’s National Emergency declaration along our southern border. If the resolution of disapproval is voted out of the house, which it likely will be, it will then move on the Senate.

Another hot topic of course was Hoda Muthana, the 24-year-old “ISIS bride” born in Alabama, who yesterday we told you wants to return to the United States after having left to join ISIS.  The same woman who called on Muslims to kill their fellow Americans and “spill their blood” now wishes to come back.

Her father has now filed a lawsuit against President Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and newly confirmed Attorney General William Barr, stating she should be allowed to return and her citizenship should be granted.

The question of her citizenship, however, is an issue that will be addressed by the courts. If she did return, she could be indicted on terrorism charges. This sobering reality may inspire her to seek a home someplace else.

We also discussed the so-called Green New Deal, which has become the policy “flavor of the month.” Many Democrats, particularly those that have already declared intentions to run for President, support this socialist Green New Deal, including self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Cory Booker.

As we said previously, many of these are the same candidates who supported new state legislation authorizing the killing of a baby at any stage, even after birth. It is Leftist states that are putting these extreme pro-abortion laws on the table, which should prove problematic for these would-be candidates.

That conversation led us to the natural question of who the Democrats should put forward to face President Trump? Do they risk putting their hopes behind a Socialist candidate, or will the party select someone more moderate? So we asked our audience.
