21 More Conservative Judges Confirmed

By David Fonseca1563391399470

This year we have seen a record number of constitutionally minded judges confirmed. This achievement is a credit to President Trump and the leadership in the U.S. Senate. Former Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, current Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have all made these confirmations the highest priority of the U.S. Senate.

There have been two stellar Supreme Court Justices (Justice Neil Gorsuch and Justice Brett Kavanaugh), 42 Circuit Court of Appeals judges, and 83 district court judges confirmed so far under President Trump. The White House continues to nominate judges who have a deeply rooted commitment to preserving the original intent of the Constitution and upholding the rule of law in this great country.

One of the most important duties of a President is nominating federal judges. We are working hard to ensure that the judges chosen are judicially competent and qualified, and we are pleased that President Trump and the U.S. Senate have made this issue a top priority. These judges will have jurisdiction to issue opinions on a vast number of legal issues during the course of their tenures, often spanning many decades.

Many of the issues we care about at the ACLJ will be directly impacted by the opinions of these judges. These include issues ranging from the sanctity of life to the religious freedoms that we get to enjoy in the United States of America. We have dozens of cases in which we have filed briefs and are involved that will depend heavily on placing constitutionally-minded jurists on the federal bench. Last week, the Senate confirmed Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals nominee Daniel Bress, who become the seventh Trump appointee to that court. Judge Bress was confirmed by a party line vote of 53-45.

Just last week, we highlighted a pro-life victory from the Ninth Circuit that was directly impacted by confirming solid conservative judges. Already, nearly 25% of sitting Circuit Court of Appeals judges have been appointed by President Trump, and there are still quite a number of vacancies left to fill.

Together with your help, we can continue to encourage the White House and the U.S. Senate to confirm constitutional judges to help guide the judiciary in a way that will positively impact Americans’ lives for decades to come.

Since the last time we updated you on the numbers of these judges there have been 21 new Circuit judges confirmed. They are listed below:
