The fourth Democrat Presidential debate takes place tonight in Westerville, Ohio at Otterbein University and there are questions the candidates NEED to answer.
On today’s Jay Sekulow Live we previewed the Democrat Presidential debate that will be moderated by CNN anchors Erin Burnett and Anderson Cooper as well at New York Times national editor Marc Lacey.
What questions get asked tonight? Is this going to be the debate where they get into. The impeachment issues? Will it be the debate where the questions are aimed at former Vice President Biden and the role that his son had regarding Ukraine and possibly China?
The polling makes it look increasingly like a two person race for the Democrats between Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden. Senator Warren is gaining consistently and is looking like the front runner.
Is Elizabeth Warren going to try to take Biden out tonight? Is she going to take fire herself from Biden or the rest of the field?
Bernie Sanders is rapidly dropping in the polls, especially after his health issue. He has recently attacked Elizabeth Warren for being a capitalist and may do so tonight. She clearly is not, but this is what Senator Sanders said in a recent interview:
Elizabeth Warren has been a friend of mine for some 25 years. And I think she is a very, very good senator. But there are differences between Elizabeth and myself. Elizabeth I think, as you know, has said that she is a capitalist through her bones. I’m not.
Will Senator Warren in kind take shots at Bernie Sanders? That’s another thing to watch for tonight.
Over the weekend it was reported that former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is considering running for President. Given his vast financial resources, it isn’t too late for him to get in to the race. He’s said in the past he’d run for President as a Democrat. We discussed whether or not the current Far Left Democrats that make up the primary electorate would embrace him given his business history and the fact that he’s been elected as both an Independent and a Republican. The answer is probably not, as the far left doesn’t consider Bloomberg one of their own.
What sort of questions will be asked? Will Democrats focus on impeachment or other issues? ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison wondered whether anyone will be asked tough questions by the moderators.
ACLJ Director of Government Affairs Thann Bennett suggested that all the candidates be asked and forced to answer a serious question: “What will you substantively do to make the lives of the American people better?”
