Reports indicate the reckoning of James Comey is imminent.

On today’s show we discussed a report coming from Inspector General Michael Horowitz that may end up being devastating for former FBI head James Comey.

As John Solomon, who joined us live during our broadcast, reported in his article at TheHill.com:

The Justice Department’s chief watchdog is preparing a damning report on James Comey’s conduct in his final days as FBI director that likely will conclude he leaked classified information and showed a lack of candor after his own agency began looking into his feud with President Trump over the Russia probe.

Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz’s team referred Comey for possible prosecution under the classified information protection laws, but Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors working for Attorney General William Barr reportedly have decided to decline prosecution — a decision that’s likely to upset Comey's conservative critics.

I think James Comey is clearly in real trouble here. He’s gone eerily silent on Twitter since the Mueller testimony.

We don’t have the evidence. We only know what’s already out in the public. But as Jordan pointed out, one thing we believe this report is going to do is completely vindicate President Trump’s decision to fire James Comey.

The DOJ reportedly declined the recommendation to bring charges, as it may not want to make its first case off of this first report, and may even have a larger case brewing, but it’s clear Comey’s in hot water.

Our friend, journalist John Solomon, spoke to us live and summed up Comey’s behavior and leadership, calling it: “an incompetent, bumbling, leaking, and misguided FBI during those two or three years and that’s why a scandal like Russia was given birth without the basis of evidence . . . James Comey’s bad leadership.”

But before we got into the IG report, I started the show by thanking all the members of the ACLJ for helping us not only meet our July Matching Challenge goal, but for giving us our second largest non-December online donation day in our history. Our legal teams across the country and around the world could not perform the critical work we do to protect life, religious liberty, and our Constitution without your steadfast support. I thank you. Jordan thanks you. And the entire ACLJ team thanks you.
