Breaking News: Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar are BANNED from visiting the State of Israel.

On today’s Jay Sekulow Live, we discussed the news that Israel has officially barred Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) – two members of the so-called “squad” from stepping foot on Israeli soil, forcing them to cancel a planned visit this week.

The move by Israel seems to be based on both Representatives’ anti-Semitic statements and their shared support of the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement which seeks to delegitimatize the State of Israel, denying its right to exist.

Israel has laws on its books that say if you support BDS, you can be barred from entering the country. Today, Israel’s deputy foreign minister confirmed that Reps. Tlaib and Omar would not be granted entry:

The country's deputy foreign minister Tzipi Hotovely announced the decision Thursday, despite prior assurances that the congresswomen would be allowed in.

"Israel has decided — we won’t enable the members of Congress to enter the country,” Hotovely told public broadcaster Kan. "We won’t allow those who deny our right to exist in this world to enter Israel. In principle, this is a very justified decision."

Both Reps. Omar and Tlaib have made anti-Semitic statements, such as when we told you Rep. Omar tweeted that U.S. loyalty to Israel is “all about the Benjamins” – an implication that Jews control everything with money. And Rep. Tlaib stated that she gets a “calming feeling” when she thinks about the Holocaust.

Rep. Omar also recently essentially compared the State of Israel to Nazi Germany. That’s anti-Semitic.

We recently reported how the two Congresswomen co-sponsored a resolution in the House supporting the anti-Semitic and anti-Israel BDS movement.

Reps. Tlaib and Omar are radical, terrorist-sympathizers, at best. Both have proudly embraced BDS even as it maintains its connections to violent terrorist groups like Hamas.

This morning, President Trump stood up for the State of Israel, tweeting that Reps. Tlaib and Omar should not be allowed to visit Israel:

It would show great weakness if Israel allowed Rep. Omar and Rep. Tlaib to visit. They hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds. Minnesota and Michigan will have a hard time putting them back in office. They are a disgrace!

The ACLJ has urged Congress to censure Reps. Tlaib and Omar for anti-Semitism but to date no real action has been taken by House leadership.

We are acting to combat anti-Semitism. We’re in the process of sending an Open Records Law Request regarding the University of North Carolina demanding information about an anti-Semitic anti-Israel conference the university hosted and paid for with a $235,000 federal grant funded by taxpayer dollars.
