In an extremely troubling move, Europe is poised to force warning labels on Jewish made products sold within Europe.

Today on the broadcast, we discussed a decision out of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) that, if upheld, would mandate that Jewish and Israeli products coming out of “settlements” and “Israeli colonies” have warning labels placed on them for coming from so-called disputed areas.

According to reports:

The Advocate General of the European Court of Justice recently issued non-binding opinion arguing that EU law requires Israeli-made products to be labeled as coming from "settlements" and "Israeli colonies."

The decision will go before a 15 judge panel of the ECJ and if they find the Advocate General is correct, it will become mandatory for Jewish made products to have warning labels placed on them in the European Union (EU.)

This is chillingly reminiscent to Holocaust-era boycotts against Jews.

Of course it would be a big win for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

This is all part of the anti-Semitic BDS movement that we’ve been combatting on multiple fronts. The ACLJ is fighting here at home, our European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ) is fighting in Europe, and our ACLJ Jerusalem office is fighting internationally.

This I what BDS is all about. The BDS movement is dedicated to the ultimate destruction of the State of Israel. BDS target colleges, communities, businesses, and prominent institutions with its anti-Semitic rhetoric. Step one is to delegitimize the state of Israel. And that’s what this effort is all about.

This is a dangerous and outrageous move. Israel continues to fend off attacks from Palestinian terrorists, and yet it’s somehow labeled the aggressor. Other nations like Iran and Syria continue to oppress their own people and no action is taken.

Putting warning labels on Israeli products continues that distortion. It’s all part of making incremental gains in a bigger campaign to delegitimize and destabilize the State of Israel.

It’s a three step process. First you put labels on products from disputed Israeli territories. Then you put them on ALL Israeli products. Finally, you just boycott Israeli products altogether in the European Union.

It’s blatant anti-Semitism.

We also shared an update in our ongoing fight for life. The Tennessee state legislature is conducting a summer study and considering an amendment that would ban abortion not only when a heartbeat is detected, but when Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) is detected generally less than two weeks after conception. ACLJ Senior Counsel CeCe Heil was in studio with me to discuss the study. CeCe is submitting testimony to the Tennessee legislature in support of this critical pro-life bill.
