Congresswoman Ilhan Omar just inexplicably compared an anti-Israel movement with terrorist ties to the Boston Tea Party, and Israel to Nazi Germany.

Today on Jay Sekulow Live, we discussed Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) introducing a resolution to support the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement (BDS), an anti-Israel, anti-Semitic movement that supports violent terrorists like Hamas.

Rep. Omar wrapped her anti-Israel resolution in faux-patriotism to disguise the reality of it. She claimed the resolution would “to really speak about the American values that support and believe in our ability to exercise our First Amendment rights in regard to boycotting. And it is an opportunity for us to explain why it is we support a nonviolent movement, which is the BDS movement.”

BDS is far from nonviolent when it supports terrorists like Hamas. As Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) stated immediately after Rep. Omar spoke:

“The BDS movement has not distanced itself from Hamas a designated foreign terrorist organization. BDS supporters individually are not distancing themselves from Hamas either . . . . Last Friday, Fati Hamad, a senior Hamas official called upon Palestinians worldwide to kill all Jews.”

What about that is nonviolent?

Rep. Omar also curiously and incorrectly compared BDS to the Boston Tea Party:

“This week I introduced a resolution with civil rights leader, our colleague, John Lewis and Rashida Tlaib who know the importance of non-violence movements. It recognizes the proud history of boycott movements in the country dating back to the Boston Tea Party. We should honor these movements and that history.”

The reality is the Boston Tea Party wasn’t exactly peaceful or nonviolent, and was actually a major step toward war. Bad comparison.

What’s even more offensive and flat-out disgusting is during her speech, Rep. Omar essentially likened Israel to Nazi Germany:

“Americans of conscience have a proud history of participating in boycotts to advocate for human rights abroad including . . . boycotting Nazi Germany from March 1933 to October 1941 in response to the dehumanization of the Jewish people in the lead-up to the Holocaust.”

This is about delegitimizing the state of Israel. It’s not just a boycott movement. It’s a divestment movement. It’s a movement to censure. It’s blatantly anti-Israel and anti-Semitic.

And Speaker Pelosi and Democratic leadership has taken no action to correct it or censor her. They have given Rep. Omar and her anti-Semitism an international pulpit.

She has also made numerous anti-Semitic slurs, including her infamous comment that support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins.” We also told you how she publicly minimized the horrific September 11th attacks as “some people did something.”

There is no place in Congress for anti-Semitism or for support of movements with ties to violent anti-Israel terrorists calling for the massacre of all Jews. I would love to ask Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats, some of which are Jewish themselves, when is enough going to be enough?

It is time to take action. Rep. Omar must be removed from the Foreign Affairs Committee and she must be censured.
