Any time there’s a major flare-up of anti-Semitism, you’re going to hear about it here. Particularly as unchecked anti-Semitism is running rampant in Congress from the likes of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).

On today’s broadcast, we discussed Freshman Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who appeared on a podcast and made an equally offensive and mind-boggling statement that she has a “calming feeling” about the Holocaust because her ancestors “ lost their land and some lost their lives” to create a “safe haven” for Jews.

Think about that – a sitting member of Congress said she gets a “calming feeling” about an event that resulted in the merciless slaughter of six million Jewish men, women, and children.

I want you to really ingest every single word she said. Read it line by line to see how truly offensive it is. Here are Rep. Tlaib’s exact words:

"There’s always kind of a calming feeling, I tell folks, when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people's passports.

And, just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time. And, I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways, but they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them."

She actually began her statement saying “two weeks ago we celebrated” the Holocaust. Tlaib clumsily caught herself and reworded her statement. But let’s be clear – no one celebrates the Holocaust except anti-Semites.

Rep. Tlaib is trying to rewrite history to her own advantage, ignoring the reality of what really happened. There is no evidence that Arabs created a safe haven for Jews.

During the show, we continually showed a picture to our Facebook and Periscope audience of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, meeting with Adolph Hitler in 1941. The record of that meeting shows not only were they never at any point discussing a “safe haven” for the Jewish people; they were discussing how they had the same enemy: the Jews.

Yet when called out on her vile words, Rep. Tlaib tried to redirect and turn it around on her critics, brazenly tweeting:

“Policing my words, twisting & turning them to ignite vile attacks on me will not work. All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably.”

This cannot be tolerated. THIS is hatred. THIS is anti-Semitism. Rep. Tlaib must be censured.

But what’s going to happen? Is Speaker Nancy Pelosi going to let this go . . . again? Is that what this is going to be again? There is going to be no repercussions for this . . . again?

We all agreed that if Speaker Pelosi and Congressional leaders won’t condemn her speech, they are condoning it. House leadership has to step up and say this is wrong. If they don’t, they are complicit in anti-Semitic rhetoric, plain and simple.

But leaders on the Left like Chuck Schumer and Speaker Pelosi have remained, to date, silent. Our fear is they won’t condemn Tlaib, despite her hateful, offensive words.

Which is why we have to stay constantly vigilant, and ready to take action against these anti-Semitic attacks.
