Just days ago we told you about the State Department’s order to evacuate all non-emergency U.S. government employees from Iraq amid increased tensions with Iran. Now, we’ve seen an example of the “credible threat” Iran poses. Specifically a rocket attack near the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, and President Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran: “Never threaten the United States!”

Today on Jay Sekulow Live, we discussed the rocket attack launched at Baghdad’s Green Zone, striking very close to the American embassy, just days after the President ordered the removal of non-emergency U.S. employees.

President Trump made it clear we will defend American interests against attack, tweeting:

“If Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran. Never Threaten the United States again!”

An Iranian-supported militia group in the region is believed to be responsible for the attack. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties, this time. But the attack is a clear threat against the U.S. as well as the Iraqi capital.

President Trump has said he does not want a war. What he wants, and we all agreed, is to see a free and open Iran. In fact, we discussed what a great ally Iran could be. The Iranian people are good people and have much to offer the world, but they are being oppressed, and by backing terrorism and threatening attacks against U.S. interests, their irrational leaders are putting them in great danger.

The current Iranian regime is spending its money supporting terrorists like those likely behind this rocket attack, instead of supporting its own people. This is causing great unrest in the country, and there needs to be a regime change before it’s too late.
