Of course we all hope we can avoid a dangerous conflict, but amidst growing tensions, including suspected Iranian attacks on four oil vessels in the region, the question has to be asked – is it time to take action against Iran?

On today’s broadcast, we discussed the State Department’s order on Wednesday to evacuate all non-emergency U.S. government employees from Iraq amid increased tensions with Iran. The State Department also warned U.S. citizens to avoid travel to Iraq, citing a "high risk for violence and kidnapping."

We recently told you that Iran has been threatening America, and has moved missiles into strategic locations capable of attacking American forces.

Last week four oil tankers were attacked and damaged with what appeared to be explosive devices in the Middle East. Iranian military forces are now being blamed for the sabotage.

The U.S. takes these engagements and threats very seriously. In response, the U.S. sent armed forces including an aircraft carrier and bombers to strategic locations within the region.

This is sending a clear message to Iran. We are putting the components in place, so that once we identify the specific threats, we can take appropriate action to stop them if we have to.

I put it to the audience: do you support taking military action against Iran? We don’t want a war, but we must protect our allies and our interests.

The ball is now in Iran’s hand. The next move is theirs to make, but if they make the wrong move, the United States will be ready to meet them.
