It might be the most twisted attempt to normalize abortion we’ve ever seen.

A pro-abortion activist group – appropriately named The Agenda Project – released a puzzling and disturbingly ironic video ad online titled “The Chosen,” which is still going viral today.

The video simply features a beautiful little bright-eyed baby on a white blanket, cooing and giggling, while a lullaby plays in the background.

The titles read, “She deserves to be loved.” We agree.

“She deserves to be wanted.” Absolutely.

“She deserves to be a choice.” Sorry, what?

The awful truth becomes clear when #StandWithPP flashes across the screen. PP in this instance of course stands for Planned Parenthood. This video is a perverse attempt to tug at the heartstrings and normalize killing a baby at the same time.

Big Abortion is getting desperate. This weird “bait and switch” style ad is just another glaring example of how badly it's flailing. At first glance, this video could easily be an effective pro-life piece, or an advertisement for an adoption service.

A quick look at The Agenda Project’s previous video campaigns makes it clear that they seem more concerned with being shocking and outrageous, without perhaps considering the effectiveness or legitimacy of their content. Their videos are titled with expletives and fearmongering. One particularly distasteful video you may have heard about that they produced during the 2012 presidential election depicted then Vice Presidential candidate and Republican Congressman, Paul Ryan rolling a senior citizen in a wheelchair off of a cliff. The description states that’s what “conservatives are actually trying to do.”

On their website, The Agenda Project draws an absurd contradictory line between “conservatives and decent Americans.” It’s very clear that the real agenda project here is to attack conservatives, and simply to shock.

By creating compelling illustrations of the differences between conservatives and decent Americans, we challenge our fellow citizens to examine their personal values and pick a side. By selecting those issues which best embody the fundamental difference between the two sides, we are able to penetrate the rightwing propaganda machine and lay bare the inadequacies of their worldview.

Our approach seeks to repeatedly strike the collective nerve in the body politic and in so doing to create a resonance that lives long after the initial communications is complete. It is our ability to strike that nerve which accounts for the remarkable reach of our campaigns.

The good news is ads like this might actually backfire on Big Abortion. Regardless of the intended message the Agenda Project was trying to push across, it would take a dark soul to look into those bright blue eyes and think it rational to kill that precious child for any reason.

Big Abortion has been putting a great deal of time and resources into normalizing abortion and targeting children and young people – who they hope to see as future customers. It’s getting harder and harder to follow the logic behind these perverse campaigns.

This summer we told you about their abortion themed ice cream campaign, “Rocky Roe v. Wade.” And of course we can’t forget the Planned Parenthood representative who proposed that what their crumbling empire of death needed was a “Disney Princess who’s had an abortion.”

Some of the abortion industry’s strategies are so ridiculous that it’s almost comical. But as we’ve reported, the truth is Planned Parenthood uses taxpayer money to target kids with its propaganda. There’s nothing funny about that.

That’s why we’re fighting to defund Planned Parenthood and its sick propaganda machine in courtrooms across the country and at the Supreme Court. We submitted public comments in strong support of a proposed regulation to cut off Title X funding to Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers.

We also filed a key amicus brief asking the Supreme Court to take a case that could allow states to defund Planned Parenthood. We await the Court’s decision whether to take the case any day.

We will not stop until we cut off every taxpayer dime from funding Big Abortion, and hamper its ability to deceive young people with its abortion distortion.
