Does it matter who the President of the United States is? You bet it does. Especially to those fighting to defend innocent unborn lives. President Trump has just shut down the horrific practice of the federal government using, or funding the use of, human tissue remains from elective abortions for medical research.

Today on the show, we discussed the Trump administration canceling a contract with an American university that was conducting medical research using human tissue remains from elective abortions. They’ve also shut down human tissue research on aborted babies inside the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

As we often say, this is not a topic we’re just talking about. The ACLJ filed FOIA requests to obtain information regarding fetal tissue research. In one case, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) just flat out canceled the contract as soon as we announced we’d be filing a FOIA. In a second case, regarding a contract between NIH and UC San Francisco, they just canceled the contract.

Yesterday HHS released an official statement announcing the cancellation of that contract. It also announced that any future grant requests will have to pass a rigorous review board which will examine the ethical implications of the research. Meaning if you want money to experiment with aborted babies, you will be denied.

If you’re not a lifelong Washington insider, it’s shocking what you find out the government is using our tax dollars to fund. This is why we always say elections have consequences. The ACLJ is fighting to shut down the taxpayer funded abortion industry. This is a great win for life.

Also, on this, the 75th anniversary of D-Day, when Allied troops put themselves in harm’s way, landing on the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe from the Nazi scourge, we acknowledged and paid tribute to the few surviving heroes of that day who made it home alive. We are free because of their courage and sacrifice, as well as the many who never came back. Today, take time to read this moving tribute by our own Col. Wes Smith, thank God almighty for these brave vets, and commit to praying for their families and them.
