President Biden Gives Up American Energy Independence To Declare War on the Middle Class

After finally imposing sanctions on Russian energy and after declaring a war on America’s middle class in 2020 as a presidential candidate, President Biden has now turned to rogue nations as potential suppliers of oil to the American market rather than opening up energy development in the United States. It is highly doubtful that the already-sanctioned nation of Venezuela and the even more heavily sanctioned nation of Iran, the world’s number one state sponsor of terror, are reliable sources of energy to the American market that has sustained a rise in gasoline from $2.25 per gallon at the end of 2020 to $5.44 per gallon in California today.

After declaring war on American energy by blocking the completion of the Keystone XL pipeline on January 20, 2021, and after imposing restrictions on the oil and gas industry and reclaiming America’s energy independence, last week President Biden claimed that he wanted to prioritize buying products made in America. This is a fantasy cooked up in cloud-cuckoo-land that conflicts with the truth. As further proof that Biden is out of touch with reality, he announced that he would cut off oil imports from Russia for invading Ukraine, yet he declined to lift the Administration’s restrictions on U.S. energy and failed to direct U.S. oil and gas companies to ramp up production. In addition, he is the same President who suspended oil and gas leases on public lands, canceled Arctic drilling leases, and imposed taxes and regulations on the U.S. energy industry. This is the same Administration that has encouraged Americans to buy electric cars costing $57,000 per vehicle when the median (average) income for an American family in 2020 was approximately $67,500.

While President Biden wants to blame Russian aggression for the rise in U.S. energy prices, the American people know better. This is so because gasoline prices were exploding—up 61% or roughly $1.30 per gallon—well before Putin invaded Ukraine. This painful reality is accompanied by still another as food prices worldwide have gone up almost 21% from 2021 to 2022.

After setting American foreign policy on fire with the deadly, chaotic, and disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, after opening America’s southern border to terrorists and other illegal immigrants, and after resuming negotiations with the terrorist regime in Iran, it appears that President Biden and his allies on the far Left are prepared to compare climate change to the 9/11 terrorists attacks. Similar efforts in Germany and elsewhere in Europe have left citizens at the mercy of wind farms, solar panels, Russian energy, and Russian foreign policy aggression. It appears that President Biden wants to take the American people down the same pathway to disaster.

Rather than return to American energy independence, rather than issue a ceasefire in his war on the American people, Biden's overall pattern appears to be part of a deliberate strategy by the progressive Left to dismiss the concerns of the American people, as globalists around the world have rushed to join the Great Reset that has seen the nation of Canada and many Blue State governors institute authoritarian policies that disregard the interests of the people in freedom. Freedom means ensuring that the energy policy of the U.S. is not held captive to an agenda dictated by climate change fanatics, feckless foreign policy initiatives, and the anti-American concerns of the progressive Left.
