We have breaking news, as House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff announces public hearings begin next week before the House Intel Committee.

Today on the show we discussed Rep. Adam Schiff’s announcement that the House Intel Committee will be having public impeachment hearings beginning next week. We also touched on last night’s election results in Virginia and elsewhere, our ongoing trial against Planned Parenthood, and our upcoming oral arguments before the International Criminal Court.

According to Rep. Schiff’s statement, U.S. Diplomat Bill Taylor, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the European and Eurasian Bureau in the State Department George Kent, and former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch will be testifying. Schiff stated:

Those open hearings will be an opportunity for the American people to evaluate the witnesses for themselves, to make their own determinations about the credibility of the witnesses, but also to learn first-hand about the facts of the president’s misconduct.

First of all, they leaked out the facts of what they said the President did or did not do. That’s already been leaked out. They’ve already released the transcripts of the witness testimony. They’ve already denied the President due process. There’s no retroactive due process. As I put it on the show, the cake’s already been baked here.

This is a timing issue. The longer this thing goes, it is dangerous for them politically.

ACLJ Director of Government Affairs Thann Bennett agreed:

I don’t think there’s any question that they wouldn’t be doing this if they thought November of 2020 was going to go well for them. They are trying to shuffle that up. At the same time, they don’t want it to run too close to the election because then it becomes all about this as opposed to ideas. Frankly, I think they are going to lose either way but if this rolls into 2020, I think it helps one person politically, President Trump.

Jordan Sekulow pointed out that the individuals testifying are career members of the Foreign Service – bureaucrats:

These three are people running to the committee because they don’t like the policies of the President.

They are used to dealing with traditional Republicans and Democrats at the White House who just let them do their thing. This President says no, I’m the President and I’m in charge of foreign policy. If you don’t like it then I will just go over you. You don’t set the policy; you are supposed to carry out the Executive’s goals.

This is really a policy dispute. This is impeachment over a policy dispute. You have the President’s Ukraine call that is out. They didn’t like the policy so they are complaining. That may be interesting, but what’s the legal relevance?

I want to remind the American people that this process has taken place without due process. Whatever you hear has already been baked. This attempt at retroactive due process is nonexistent and does not work. This is a scam being pulled off on the American people.

We also discussed the results of last night’s elections in Kentucky and elsewhere, but the most troubling results happened in Virginia.

After last night, for the first time in a generation the major offices of power are held by the far Left in Virginia. Expect more radical pro-abortion legislation to come from Virginia.

Planned Parenthood is now in charge of the State House, State Senate, and Governor’s mansion.

The ACLJ has done and continues to do a lot of work to expose and fight back against Planned Parenthood’s insidious influence on government – including our trial going on in federal court in California.
