A Democratic Congressman, knowing that impeachment will not lead to the removal of President Trump, is calling for perpetual impeachment. What does it mean and what are they committed to do, even in a Trump second term?

On today’s Jay Sekulow Live, we discussed Congressman Al Green’s comments that a president can be impeached more than once and his signal that they were going to continue to impeach President Trump again and again.

Here’s what Congressman Green said on CSPAN:

A president can be impeached more than once. So we can do this. We can move forward with what we have on the table currently, and take this before the Senate, and we can still investigate other issues. And when the president has committed additional offenses, and my suspicion is that he will, we can take those before the Senate. There is no limit on the number of times the Senate can vote to convict or not a president, no limit the number of times the House can vote to impeach or not a president.

Congressman Green has been trying to impeach President Trump since 2017. Back in May he said on MSNBC: “I'm concerned that if we don't impeach this president, he will get re-elected.”

Congressman Green actually filed articles of impeachment in December of 2017. Then again he filed them in May of 2017, presenting articles of impeachment against President Trump because of the firing of Jim Comey. He didn’t call for a vote but he’s continued to call for impeachment. The President can fire whatever officials he would like. He does not have to offer reasons or explanations for that.

In July of 2019 Congressman Green filed articles of impeachment again, because of President Trump’s attack on “The Squad” for their anti-Israel stance. Again this is a policy issue. President Trump pointed out how they were anti-Israel, anti-American, and socialists. They all claim to be pro-BDS. They are all socialists. I don’t know if they claim to be anti-American but I believe if you are socialists who hate Israel then you probably don’t like the way the American government is set up today.

ACLJ Director of Government Affairs Thann Bennett made the following point:

How many times on this broadcast have we talked about, that if we’re going to proceed on impeachment on these grounds that it’s going to be perpetual impeachment of every president that we ever elect. If you go back to the very start of this when Nancy Pelosi announced that she was opening these impeachment proceedings and she did it without having read the transcript of the call that was going to form the foundation of it, both of those two moments have brought us to this one where the House Majority is prepared to impeach a President without any grounds to do so.

This same Congressman, Al Green, initially failed and essentially stood by himself. Now his is the Majority stance in the House of Representatives.

They are creating an atmosphere of perpetual impeachment, perpetual presidential harassment utilizing aspects of the Deep State.

Nancy Pelosi had told everyone that this was not about politics but now she’s adopted the stance of Congressman Al Green, the policy of “We Must Impeach” or else President Trump definitely wins.

I think because of this impeachment it is likely that President Trump wins by bigger margins.
