Judge Amy Coney Barrett is an excellent nominee to be the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, with a proven track record of upholding the Constitution and the rule of law. As a constitutional conservative, Judge Barrett has both the qualities and experience necessary to serve on the Supreme Court. We urge the Senate to move swiftly to confirm this nominee. It is imperative that this vacancy on the Supreme Court be filled without delay in accordance with Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution, which states that the President “shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint . . . Judges of the Supreme Court . . . .” We have already witnessed attacks on Judge Barrett’s Christian faith – attacks that are totally unacceptable and directly violate the No Religious Tests Clause of the Constitution. At the ACLJ, we will work aggressively to advocate for her quick confirmation.
